We Leave At Dawn

December 17th, 2007

Welcome to the Mountain.

Because you would not come to us, we have come to you.

As echoed, the singularity here is Voice.

We do not want you to give your voices for free, to be graded in a street-cred competition by your peers. Street-Cred never put food in your mouth or a shirt on your back.

We want you to help us build something that helps you.

Stephen King once said,

“If you wrote something for which someone sent you a check, if you cashed the check and it didn’t bounce, and if you then paid the light bill with the money, I consider you talented.”

Many never get that chance. Many should. More shouldn’t.

There is no reason why the old world back room conventions need to continue.

Why should a hundred be picked and pumped and yours forgotten because you did not know the right people?

Why shouldn’t the future implode into the present and symbiosis of living memory be formed.

There is no reason why we cannot stop spinning about to fuck each other in the back.

As The Mountain moves and momentum is gathered, there is a humanism in looking at that gift from an Amazon wish-list or that payment entry to Paypal and saying proudly;

I am a Writer.

I am a part of something that is changing.

I am part of the out-stretched grasping hand that catches the pimp’s fist and holds it firm.

But most importantly;

I am a Writer.

I am an Artist.

And that is fact, not something airily decided by something that will create my brand name.

“Each life makes its own imitation of immortality.”

In the words of Laibach;

“It is enough to have the strength and knowledge to raise our dream machines into the sky.

Let them sleep who do not know, the final day is here, the very last, And we leave at Dawn.”

Aimless shit shoveling back patting protest will not move you forward.

Stop suggesting, put the head down and work.

We can point at the horror and continue to scream “It’s there! It’s There! Look!”

In the careful knowledge that the sheep look up nod and look back down.

Help us Help you.

We are not the future.

The future is already here.

“We Are Time.”
